Would you like to work part-time and for one of the best nonprofits in our community? The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens is seeking to fill the newly created Programming Director position.
The Programming Director will support the Executive Director (ED) and the Programming Committee to manage various events along with our year-round programming calendar. Our high-season runs May through December while the off-season is significantly less busy. This in-person position will be approximately 10 to 20 hours per week with flexible hours and some remote work possible, especially for planning, coordinating, and supporting our programming and related marketing efforts.
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Work with the ED and the Programming Committee Chair to manage the events calendar.
• Coordinate, attend and summarize Programming Committee meetings.
• Follow up with Programming Committee members to ensure we are keeping with our timeframes and pre-work for events is happening timely.
• Coordinate with outside users of the park for private events and ensure they have what they need and understand our requirements.
• Oversee logistics of events hosted by the park in conjunction with the ED and other board members.
• Work closely with programming and the volunteer committee chairs.
• Support the budgeting process as needed.
• Work closely with the Marketing Director on requirements and assets needed to market our events.
• Hold regular office hours at the park, especially during the off-season.
• Be present at most, if not all events, especially during Park sponsored and town wide events.
Requirements:
• Have great communication skills and be an excellent ambassador of the Park
• Highly-organized and able to juggle multiple priorities
• Must be reliable and trustworthy, able to represent the Park externally with vendors, guests, the town and others who use our facilities.
• Need to be able to move tables, chairs, and other required set-ups for events.
• Be able to use Canva, Google Business Suite, MS Office products and Asana.
